Project Description: I am asked to write a hard news or feature for this course. As a film student, I happened to have a film program where a film called Roma was being screened, so I went there and covered that event. Some respected teachers from the program department were present and expressed their views on the film.

Project Justification: Bangladesh As the film situation in Bangladesh is a bit bad, I think this kind of news or program will inspire the newcomers, and they will take inspiration from it and give us good future films and show them to the world.

Roma is Screened at the 'Film Reading' Function for ULAB Students

Oscar-winning filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón's film Roma is screened on International Women's Day, and the film is analyzed. University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) film apprenticeship program CinemaScope organized the event.

Ulab media studies and journalism department professor Suman Rahman directed the film reading program at Ulab Campus B. The teacher of ULAB Sarkar Barbak Karmal, Nandita Tabassum, Vijaya Anam, Aminul Islam and CinemaScope Consultant Mohammad Sajjad Hossain also attended the program. The film reading event was Organized on International Women's Day.

When the film was over, Dr Sumon Rahman gave a constructive discussion on various aspects of the film. He said The director Alfonso Curone told the whole story from the landscape. As a result, caste and gender have become secondary. At its most potent, the story emerges from landscape and memory as an unaltered version. Also, Mohammad Sajjad Hossain, while reviewing the film, said, "Every scene in the film Roma carries meaning, and it deserves to be discussed".

The film Roma was nominated in 10 categories at the 91st Oscars. The movie Won Best Foreign Language Film, Best Cinematography and Best Director.

Learning and Outcome (Self-Reflection)

This assignment taught me how to write English News and deliver it. I  have learned how to take an interview, as well as how to build news. As a collective project, taking the lead of the group member enabled me to strengthen my leadership skills. I learned how a journalist can attend a program, interview people, and write news stories.
